Elizabeth Moran joined our team of hard working volunteers as our first official “staffer” and paid employee on October 27, 2014.

Elizabeth Moran, our new program manager.

Hiring our Program Manager was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made as there were so many amazing candidates, each with a powerful story about how they could make great contributions towards the growth and success of Girls Can Do.

When Elizabeth told me, “all of the experiences in my life have been leading me to this job” I knew she had something really unique to offer. As you get to know Elizabeth through your involvement with Girls Can Do, I’m sure you will agree. Her bio below will give you a sneak peak.

A humanitarian both at heart and professionally, Elizabeth is a graduate of the Human Services Program at Western Washington University.  She has spent the last 15 years working as an advocate for those who are not able to advocate for themselves. As the Girls Can Do Program Manager and first employee, Elizabeth wears many hats. Community outreach, systems and operations, partnerships and event planning are just a few.

Recently, Elizabeth checked big items on her life list: She spent time in Uganda distributing school supplies to primary schools and orphanages, and, she went skydiving.  She and her wife Jennifer have combined families to total 5 children (4 with the same birthdate!) and live just outside Seattle. Her family is her inspiration for Girls Can Do.  “This is the first job that I have had outside of the home that makes me feel like I am doing something for my girls at work everyday.”  Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys friends and family dinners, watching her children play sports, lifestyle photography, annual trips, yoga, and skiing.
