Inspired by the unlikely combination of country and opera at a young age, singer/songwriter Lana McMullen began making music while in the midst of navigating elementary school growing pains. Although she has taken several detours in her career – studying opera exclusively for six years – Lana’s style has ultimately morphed into the narrative, nostalgia-inducing, Americana/roots powerhouse it is today.
Frequently compared to trailblazers such as Joni Mitchel and Tracy Chapman, Americana powerhouse Lana McMullen has been described as “channeling sincerity shot through with an irreverent streak.” In the past two years she has performed at the Tractor Tavern, the Triple Door Musiquarium, and the Fremont Abbey; as well as in music festivals on an international scale. She has shared stages with Shelby Earl, Vikesh Kapoor, Jenn Grinels, and countless others; and is currently finishing up her debut record with Seattle producer Kevin Veatch, which she will release in early 2015.
