Inspired by the unlikely combination of country and opera at a young age, singer/songwriter Lana McMullen began making music while in the midst of navigating elementary school growing pains. Although she has taken several detours in her career – studying opera exclusively for six years – Lana’s style has ultimately morphed into the narrative, nostalgia-inducing, Americana/roots powerhouse it is today.

Angela Martin is an independent woman. She is proud of her Capital Hill condo, her Special Olympics achievements, and her ability to stick to her goals and dreams. Maria Coryell-Martin is an expeditionary artist following the tradition of traveling artists as naturalists and educators. She graduated from Carleton College in 2004 and received a Thomas J. Watson fellowship to explore remote regions through art from 2004-2005.

Even as a young girl growing up in her traditional Nuu-chah-nulth community of Ehattesaht (Zeballos) on Vancouver Island, Dawn Smith knew that getting an education would be a significant part of her path in life. Currently, Dawn is a sessional instructor (Indigenous Studies 200A) and the Indigenous Cultural Acumen Training Community Coordinator for the Office of Indigenous Affairs at the University of Victoria.
